Graduate Awards for Women Historians
American Historical Association awards to assist the completion of the dissertation
Published: Wednesday, March 01, 2006
The Coordinating Council on Women in the Historical Profession and the Berkshire Conference of Women Historians co-sponsor annual competitions for a $500 Graduate Student Award to assist in the completion of dissertation work. The award is intended to support either a crucial stage of research or the final year of writing. The applicant must be a woman graduate student historian in a history department in a U.S. institution; must have passed to A.B.D. status by the time of application; may specialize in any field of history; may hold this award and others simultaneously; need not attend the award ceremony to receive the award. We regret that neither high school students nor undergraduates are eligible for this scholarship. Application deadline is usually on or around Oct. 1 of each year. Please contact the CCWH for the most up-to-date information.
If you cannot download the form you may e-mail or write to Professor Ann LeBar, CCWH Awards Committee Chair, History Department, Eastern Washington University, Patterson Hall 200, Cheney, WA 99004 and ask her to send you a copy. Her e-mail is:
