The UCLA History Department seeks a historian of modern Japan. This position will be for a tenure-track assistant professor whose research focuses chronologically on 19th or 20th century Japan without regard to specialization. The deadline for receiving applications is December 9, 2005. We will begin reviewing applications immediately thereafter and will continue searching until the position is filled. We will conduct interviews at the Annual Meeting of the American Historical Association in Philadelphia.UCLA is an AA/EOE.
