African Studies Minor for Undergraduates.
Published: Thursday, February 19, 2004
The Undergraduate Minor in African Studies is designed primarily for:
Students who plan to live and work in Africa or who are interested in government and public service careers involving African affairs and/or
Students who plan to pursue graduate work in one of the social sciences or in African Languages with a primary concentration in the field of African Studies.
The philosophy of the Minor is that people with a solid background in one of the established disciplines can make the best contribution to an understanding of Africa.
With over 30 faculty members from various disciplines working in this area, students have many opportunities to customize their program of study. Students completing this program will receive a B.A. degree combining a major in a selected discipline with a Minor in African Studies.
Students may declare the minor upon consultation with the Academic Counselor.
