Shi Huangdi is an interesting figure in
Chinese History.
- I like to
start with this reading handout.
though your textbook might work just as well. This one, I like to
have students read out loud in class, and then discuss what each thing
means.
- Next, the
students may use the handout and/or textbook to write a list of all the
things that Shi Huangdi contributed to China.
- This can be
the end, and they can study from the list for a test.
- However,
another way to make this more fun if there is time, is to have the
students then turn their list into a song. Whoever volunteers the
shortest, most accurate song that is easiest to remember will get to
teach it to the whole class. (I like to give a small prize as
well). This also helps to ensure they remember it, and remember
it long enough for that 8th grade test too.
