Integrating
East Asia and New Media
into the Curriculum

Thanks to funding from
the Freeman Foundation and other agencies,
the
UCLA Center for East Asian Studies offers
K-12 teachers the opportunity to join
seminars designed to help them bring East
Asia to their students. These seminars are
part of the National Consortium for Teaching
about Asia (NCTA) effort. Enrollment space
is limited and you are encouraged to inquire
early about the seminars planned for
2004-2005.

Participants Receive
$500 stipend for each participant for
satisfactory seminar participation and
completion of requirements
$200 in East Asian
reference and teaching materials for each
participant
$300 school library grant
(per participant) for acquisition of East
Asia-focused materials
Graduates become eligible
to apply for a subsidized NCTA trip to
East Asia (summer
2005)
