Christine Smith

Christine Smith is a first year African Studies Masters candidate at UCLA with a concentration in Political Science and Anthropology. Recently, she graduated from Boston University with a B.A. in Political Science and two minors in African Studies and Anthropology. Originally from Windermere, Florida, Christine has lived all over the country, traveled abroad, and studied for a semester in Sydney, Australia. She hopes to draw on these experiences as well as her background in nonprofits and refugee tutoring while she is co-editor at The Generation. Following completion of her Masters, Christine plans to volunteer with the Peace Corps before working for the U.S. Department of State or a NGO with a focus in human rights issues in East Africa.
