Elizabeth Kivowitz is the senior media relations representative for the International Institute, working out of UCLA’s office of media relations, where she also covers student and campus life and new media.

She began her professional career producing TV documentaries for the Learning Channel. Since 2002, she has held various positions in media relations, having worked for the Broad Foundations, General Wesley Clark’s 2004 presidential campaign and, most recently, the communications office for the mayor of Los Angeles.

Kivowitz received a bachelor’s degree in English from Harvard University and a master’s degree in Anthropology and Development from the London School of Economics. She also holds a black belt in Okinawan goju ryu karate.
