César Nije is a third year undergraduate student majoring in Political Science and minoring in Education and Latin American Studies. While interning at the Burkle Center, César has been a JusticeCorps Legal Assistant at the Los Angeles Superior Court providing pro-se assistance to self-represented litigants in family law and probate matters. During the Summer of 2013, César served as the Legal Immigration Intern for Ayuda, the most well known non-profit organization in the Washington, D.C. metro area dedicated to providing a wide range of immigration and family law assistance to all immigrants. Prior to this role, as an administrative coordinator at the UCLA Student Retention Center, he worked on numerous projects related to academic counseling and mentorship opportunities available for Latina/o & Chicana/o students at UCLA. César has received many prestigious awards including the Gates Millennium Scholar and Posse Foundation scholarship.
