B.A. and Minor in Global Studies

UCLA offers an undergraduate major leading to a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Global Studies, as well as an undergraduate minor. The Global Studies Interdepartmental Program (IDP) provides UCLA undergraduates with a rigorous interdisciplinary education in the principal issues confronting today's globalized world as well its historical antecedents. The Global Studies curriculum focuses on three thematic pillars of globalization: Culture & Society, Governance & Conflict, and Markets. UCLA offers an undergraduate major leading to a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in International Development Studies. Founded in 1987, the International Development Studies Program offers UCLA undergraduates an interdisciplinary education on the critical issues, problems, and achievements common to developing regions of the world. Alice Belkin Memorial Scholarships

The Burkle Center for International Relations at UCLA awards is offering up to five scholarships for the 2007-2008 academic year. These scholarships are made possible by a generous gift from Alice Belkin and are intended to support outstanding minority graduate students with studies related to the fields of globalization, world politics or international relations who are in need of financial assistance. Successful applicants will receive up to $8,000.

Deadline: Thursday, January 31, 2008 5:00 p.m.
SELECTION: Belkin Memorial Scholarships will be granted to qualified minority graduate applicants who, in addition to outstanding leadership skills and academic achievement, demonstrate financial need.
