Dr. Mashhour Mourad

Managing Director, ICG Investment Banking

Dr. Mashhour Mourad is the CEO of Anfaal Capital, a regional investment bank based in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, that was founded by multinational institutional shareholders. Previously, he was a Managing Director at the ICG Investment & Financial Consulting Group in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Before that he was the CEO of Merrill Lynch Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, where he led the firm across business lines to get established in the Kingdom during the challenging year of 2008 until the merger with Bank of America in 2009. Prior to that Mashhour was Head of Capital, Liquidity & Corporate Finance at The National Commercial Bank (NCB) in Jeddah. Essentially the in-house Investment Banker for the firm, Dr. Mourad managed external relations with the Rating Agencies where he helped raise the Bank’s rating several notches from BBB to A+. He also launched the Bank’s debut US$2 Billion Euro Medium Term Note (EMTN) program and initial drawdown of US$750 Million. Prior to NCB, Dr. Mourad was an Economic Advisor to the Saudi Government where he was Assistant to the Governor of the Saudi Arabian General Investment Authority. In his earlier career, Mashhour was an Architectural Engineer with Bechtel Corporation. Dr. Mashhour Mourad earned his MBA and Ph.D. degrees from the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA). He also earned a B.Sc. degree in Architectural Engineering from the King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia.
