Amy Malek is a graduate student in the UCLA Department of Anthropology who focuses on visual anthropology and the Iranian diaspora. She is also studying Persian language under the auspices of an academic year Foreign Language and Area Studies (FLAS) fellowship. Amy has documented numerous Iranian festivals in the United States, and she is organizing an exhibition of Iranian-American documentary photography at the UCLA Fowler Museum that will open June 6, 2010.
