BBC Persian is part of BBC World Service and is the Persian-speaking world’s leading international broadcaster, providing news to Persian speaking audiences around the world, paying special attention to those in Iran, Afghanistan and Tajikistan.  BBC Persian is a multimedia service, available on radio, television, internet, mobile phones and handheld devices. 11.9 million people from around the world listen to and watch BBC Persian each week. bbcpersian.com has been blocked in Iran by the authority since January 2006, but despite censorship, the site now receives around 50 million page views each month, including Persian-speakers in Eurasia, North America and Europe.
