Jahangir Amuzegar is an international economic consultant based in Washington, D.C. and was formerly the Government of Iran’s Minister of Commerce (1962-63), Minister of Finance (1963) and Ambassador-at-Large (l963-1979).   He is the author of 7 books on Iran, oil, and economic development, including The Dynamics of the Iranian Revolution (1991), Iran’s Economy under the Islamic Republic (1997), and Managing the Oil Wealth:  OPEC’s Windfalls and Pitfalls (1999).  He has also written more than 50 articles in journals such as Foreign Affairs, Foreign Policy, Middle East Journal, Middle East Policy Oil & Gas Journal, and Washington Quarterly.

This lecture is part of the Center's Persian Lecture Series.
