Western Ottoman Workshop, which was held on campus on March 1-2, 2013.  The event brings together scholars and researchers based in the Western US, who are working to advance the study of the Ottoman Empire and its interactions with the wider world from the period of the late thirteenth century up until the early decades of the twentieth century.  We are very pleased to announce that during the fourth meeting of W.O.W, Professor Baki Tezcan, UC Davis, will give the keynote address entitled:  The Second Empire after Three Years: An Engagement with the Critics
