Vincent Crapanzano is Distinguished Professor of Anthropology and Comparative Literature at the City University of New York, Graduate Center. His research interests include symbolic and interpretive anthropology, ethno-psychology, anthropology and literature, and theories of interpretation.  His recent publications include The Land of Remorse: A Study of Southern Italian Tarantism, with Dorothy Lousie Zinn (2005), Imaginative Horizons: An Essay in Literary-Philosophical Anthropology (2003) and Serving the Word: Literalism in America from the Pulpit to the Bench (2001).
