Michele Penner Angrist is Associate Professor of Political Science at Union College in Schenectady, NY, where she teaches courses in international, comparative, and Middle East politics. The daughter of a Foreign Service officer, she grew up primarily in North Africa and the Middle East. Her research interests in general are democratization, regime change, and Middle East studies. She is author of Party Building in the Modern Middle East (2006) and co-editor of Authoritarianism in the Middle East: Regimes and Resistance (2005).
