Literature scholar teaches Filipino at UCLA in 2006-07.
Mariejoy San Buenaventura was a Lecturer in the UCLA Department of Asian Languages and Cultures in Spring 2007, teaching Intermediate Filipino/Tagalog. She also teaches Filipino/Tagalog at the Beverly Hills Lingual Institute. Previously she taught English in Thailand. She received her M.A. degree from Dartmouth College in 2006 and her B.A. in French from the University of the Philippines, Diliman. Her research interests include lyric poetry, lyricism in narrative poetry, and the literature of multiculturalism.
