Conference Information:
We invite historical geographers and professionals interested in
environmental and social history, and the history of science, technology
and cartography to the 12th International Conference of Historical
Geographers, 9-13 December, and its Post-Conference field trip 14 to
18th December.
Papers are invited on all aspects of Historical Geography. We aim to
provide a variety of sessions and welcome contributions on the broad
themnes listed below as well as your suggestions.
In this 12th conference we pay special attention to relationships
forged 'on the edge'. Located on the (leading) edge of the world,
Auckland and New Zealand offer challenging settings and viewpoints for
historical geographic research. We encourage you to think on the
following themes, but from the edge rather than the centre:
