Periodicals -- with good coverage of Asia
For newspapers from specific Asian countries, look under the heading for those countries.
Part of the Time Warner media empire and headquartered in Hong Kong, this publication isn't the most tends to be softer and glossier than the Far Eastern Economic Review. It is fond of lists (e.g. the ten top universities in Asia). The site is fast and easy to navigate.

Owned by Dow Jones and published in Hong Kong, the Review is a respected news weekly with articles about more than economics. Among the Review's strengths is its book section.
The Times offers better than average coverage of Asia, though East Asia gets more attention than South or Southeast Asia. One must pay to retrieve articles from previous issues. Among the strengths of the paper, however, are its reviews of Asian (again, more East Asian than from other regions) films.
Educators and others may be interested to know that NG is now selling a set of CD-roms which hold every photograph and article from the magazine's century of issues.
