Eigo Yose, a Rakugo performance in EnglishThis performance is by SANSHOTEI Charaku, HAYASHIYA Imamaru and KOMORITA Hiroko Wednesday, November 10, 2004 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM Fowler Museum Lenart Auditorium Los Angeles, CA 90095
The Japan Foundation , Rakugo Artists Association and the UCLA Center for Japanese Studies present rakugo in English. Rakugo is a centuries-old professional storytelling that depicts ordinary people's lives with a comical twist at the end. The group of performers visiting UCLA at this time includes a veteran rakugo artist SANSHOTEI Charaku, a kamikiri (paper-cutting art) expert HAYASHIYA Imamaru, and ohayashi (musical accompaniment) artist KOKORITA Hiroko. The performance will be followed by an informal reception.
