RAJIKARU! Experimentations in Japanese Art 1950-1975: Graduate Workshop

This half-day workshop brings together graduate students whose research focuses on artistic practices in postwar Japan (spanning reportage painting, performance, photography, manga, and architecture) between 1950 and 1975.

The workshop is part of a 3-day event on Postwar Japanese Art in connection with "Rajikaru! Experimentations in Japanese Art 1950-1975" (April 27-28) at the Getty Research Institute (GRI). The Getty event consists of performances, film screenings, and a full-day conference and is presented in conjunction with the GRI exhibition, "Art, Anti-Art, Non-Art: Experimentations in the Public Sphere in Postwar Japan, 1950-1975" (March 6 - June 3, 2007) curated by Charles Merewether and Rika Iezumi Hiro
