A talk with Eizaburo Okuizumi from the University of Chicago Library

Eizaburo Okuizumi is the first recipient of a Terasaki research travel grant, which was established by the Paul I. and Hisako Terasaki Center for Japanese Studies to support scholars who wish to come to UCLA to use the Gordon W. Prange Collection microform set housed at the Richard C. Rudolph East Asian Library.

Mr. Okuizumi holds an MA in librarianship from the Library School of Keio University. After ten years at Keio University, he worked as Japanese studies librarian at the University of Maryland Libraries at College Park from 1974 to 1983, during which he compiled the User’s Guide to the Microfilm Edition of Censored Periodicals: 1945-1949 (Tokyo: Yūshōdō Shoten, 1982). Since 1984 he has worked at the University of Chicago. He has also served as editorial supervisor for the Bunsei Shoin’s digital library series Publications of early Japanese in North America.
