UCLA Persian Flagship Program

In institutional partnership with The University of Maryland, College Park, UCLA has recently been awarded a Flagship Program in Persian. (2005-present)

UCLA's Department of Near Eastern Languages and Cultures will create an immersion program for Flagship students. The program is designed to address the critical need for US professionals to command superior levels of Persian proficiency in reading, speaking, and listening comprehension and is open to advanced-level learners of Persian. It anticipates admitting its first student cohort in 2007.
