CWL/ESL Full-time Lecturer
UCLA Center for World Languages/Academic English-ESL
The UCLA Center for World Languages/Academic English-ESL program is seeking a full time lecturer who specializes in at least three of the following areas: listening, speaking, pronunciation, grammar, writing, and culture.
Duties include teaching both ESL and TESL teacher education courses, including a student teaching practicum. The candidate will also be responsible for curriculum development, supervision of graduate teaching assistants, assessment & placement of ESL students, and development of special projects, including some summer supervision and/or teaching.
Familiarity with the use of technology is essential, including knowledge of course management systems, such as WebCT and digital audio & video resources. Preference is given to candidates with experience with content-based curricula, international teacher training, the K-12 context, and service learning.
Qualifications: MA in TESOL, Linguistics or closely related field; three years of university ESL teaching; experience as a teacher educator; native-like proficiency in English; willingness to be an active member of a highly motivated team of professionals.
