UCLA Offers Special Business Language Programs in Seoul and Shanghai
Intensive program for students of business Korean or business Chinese.
Those interested in doing business with Korean or Chinese have an opportunity for advanced intensive training in Seoul or Shanghai this coming summer. UCLA's Centers for International Business Education and Research and World Languages are again offering their innovative in-country programs.
Business Korean
July 2- July 31, 2007
How would you like to spend your summer learning about business Korean and Korean culture in the dynamic city of Seoul? The most "internationalized" university in South Korea, Kyung Hee University is offering a 4-week business Korean and Korean culture program in summer to advanced students of the Korean language.
Participants in the program will benefit greatly from meeting the experts in various fields such as Korean economy and Korean history. To help facilitate learning, various supplementary resources such as newspaper articles, TV programs and resources from the Internet dealing with economy, politics and culture will be used.
The program also includes field trips to some of the major industrial manufacturers and historical sites to offer on-site experience. From this 4-week business Korean language and culture program, participants will have the opportunity to strengthen their understanding of Korea’s business landscape and find means to overcome linguistic, geographical and cultural gaps.

Experience a dynamic summer in Shanghai studying Chinese Language and Culture for Business! This course is designed to provide insights into the 21st century China’s business environments - its society, economy and culture. The readings, classroom discussions and professional talks all focus on China’s latest developments on economic, political and cultural fronts. The course promotes a deeper understanding of China’s business climate, and helps students to overcome linguistic, geographical and cultural barriers to achieve higher communicative competence in business contexts.
