Connecting Your Classroom to the
Heritage Language Community

This workshop was aimed at language teachers in community, pre-college, and college programs. Workshop presenters discussed ongoing research and approaches for understanding language communities in the U.S. The workshop also included demonstrations of community-based curricula and hands-on training in data gathering.
Thirty participants from 10 states, including California, attended the workshop.
