Shushan Karapetian
Posted by: National Heritage Language Resource CenterShushan Karapetian began her studies at UCLA as an undergraduate student and received her Bachelor's Degree in Anthropology with minors in French and Armenian Studies. She then completed her Master's Degree in Armenian Studies and is currently working on her Ph.D. in Near Eastern Languages and Cultures. Her research interests focus on heritage language education, specifically on the case of Armenian heritage students in the Los Angeles community. She has been an adjunct faculty member of the Language Arts Department at Glendale Community College as an Armenian instructor since 2005, where she has taught courses on Armenian language and literature. She has also been a teaching assistant at UCLA for Dr. Richard Hovannisian's courses on Armenian Oral History and the instructor for the final quarter of the Elementary East Armenian course series for the past two years.
