Sahba Shayani

Sahba Shayani is a graduate student of Iranian Studies at the UCLA Department of Near Eastern Languages and Cultures. Sahba received his B.A. in 2008 from UCLA in English with a minor in Near Eastern Languages and Cultures. He completed his M.A. in Iranian Studies in 2011 at the same institution and is now continuing his work towards his Ph.D. His field of study is Persian language and literature, with a special interest in the life and works of Tāhirih Qurratu’l-‘Ayn. He is currently teaching the elementary Persian course for non-heritage students at UCLA as a teaching assistant and has worked with heritage learners on a variety of levels over the past five years.
