Nizar Abdel-Kader is currently a political analyst and columnist at Ad-Diyar Newspaper, Beirut. He is the author of two books Iran and the Nuclear Bomb and A Nation of No Fences, in addition to many published research papers on current political, strategic, and security topics.  He lectures on security and international relations and Middle Eastern issues at many international forum and has been a lecturer at the Lebanese University  the College of Economics and Business Administration.  He is a member of the board of the National Defense Journal (Lebanon). 

Nizar was a career military officer for 39 years with the Lebanese Armed Forces, retiring in 1995 with the rank of Major General.
