HYDERBAD: City police commissioner R P Singh on Thursday ordered an inquiry into the alleged high-handed behaviour of the police against mediapersons, who had gone to get a story on a murder that took place at Tolichowki.
A tiff took place between West Zone deputy commissioner of police N Sanjay and a scribe and camera crew of a Telugu channel who went to cover the murder, following which Assistant Commissioner of Police, Asif Nagar division, V Mahender Reddy, reportedly intervened and threatened the scribe with dire consequences.
The mediapersons staged a dharna in front of the commissioner's office at Basheerbagh demanding action against the DCP and ACP.
However, additional commissioner of police A K Khan intervened and pacified the agitating media persons.
