LAI Reach Out

LAI Reach Out

The Latin American Institute is proud to introduce a new outreach program. Sponsored by the US Department of Education, the LAI Reach-Out aims to connect Los Angeles area teachers to Latin American Studies graduate students at UCLA and to bring new resources into local classrooms.

The program reaches out to local teachers interested in making Latin American area studies a part of their classroom curriculum. Teachers from all subjects are welcome and encouraged to participate in the program.

LAI Reach Out sends a UCLA grad student to visit a particular classroom in order to share their current research and general information about Latin American area studies, and answer questions students may have about Latin America and research in general.  Teachers also have the option to bring their students to UCLA, for a talk as well as a tour of campus.
