La Opinion reports on a new book written by Octavio Pescador, visiting assistant professor of Chicano studies and associate director of the UCLA Center for Community Learning, aimed at helping children connect with the history and culture of Mesoamerica. The book will be used at the UCLA Community School, a pilot school partnership between UCLA and the Los Angeles Unified School District committed to providing high-quality education to students in the city's Koreatown neighborhood.
