The primary objective of the Latin American Film and Media Project is to foster research and teaching on diverse modes of audio-visual production throughout Latin America.
To this end, the Project's activities will have multiple components:
One of the major functions of the center will be to develop an electronic data with special focus on film, radio, television (including new video, cable, and satellite technologies data base), with possible future expansion to cover the press and the publishing industry as well as other Latin American countries.
A. Legislation. Compilation of major legislative acts regulating or supporting national film industries and cinematographic activities, and television and radio broadcasting.
B. Statistics on production, circulation, and performance of audiovisual media.
C. Information on organizations (e.g. film distributors, television networks) and government institutions (e.g. government film agencies).
D. Filmography (film and television) including pertinent data: titles, producers, directors, actors, etc.
E. Bibliography of primary and secondary sources on film, television, and radio.
