Description

Project to Introduce Korean Literature Overseas supports varied research and exchange activities in introducing Korean literature to the world, including translations of Korean literature into foreign languages and publications of Korean literature in foreign countries.

Eligibility

Projects eligible for grants:
- The translation, publication, and distribution of Korean literature into foreign languages
- Exchange project for professional translators and publishers who are interested in introducing Korean literature overseas
- International seminars to help introduce Korean literature overseas
- Researches in the field of introducing Korean literature abroad and publications of information media
- Public relations activities related to introducing Korean literature overseas
- Other activities to help establish a foundation for introducing Korean literature overseas

Required Documentation for Application:

For Translation Grant:
- 2 application forms for the Culture and Arts Promotion Fund
- 4 copies of translated text
- poetry: 20 poems
- novella: over half of text
- novel: over one-third of text
- The original text to be translated
- The curriculum vitae of the translator
- Documents on past translation and publication achievements
- Documents proving that contacts have been made with foreign publishers and information about relevant publishers
For Publication Grant:
- 2 application forms for the Culture and Arts Promotion Fund
- 4 copies of translated manuscript to be published (same amount as translation grant)
- Original work
- The curriculum vitae of the translator
Other grants:
- 2 application forms for the Culture and Arts Promotion Fund
- Curriculum vitae of the applying group/individual
- Information on cooperation between domestic and foreign organizations and the brochures about relevant organizations
-Information on domestic and foreign participants and related people for the promotion of the project

Stipend

Between 5 to 10 million won. Different support standards are applied depending on the size, characteristics and contents of the project.
