Program Summary
Tenure: Four to nine months to be initiated between July 1, 2004 and February 1, 2005
The Library of Congress, the Association of American Universities and the American Council of Learned Societies announce the Library of Congress Fellowships in International Studies, supporting postdoctoral research in all disciplines of the humanities and social sciences using the foreign language collections of the Library of Congress. Proposals in multi-disciplinary and cross-disciplinary studies are also welcome, as are proposals focused on single or multiple geographical areas.
Eligibilit
Applicants must hold a Ph.D. conferred prior to November 3, 2003, and strong preference will be given to scholars at an early stage of the career those within seven years of the degree. Applicants must be US citizens or permanent residents as of the application deadline date, and may be affiliated with any academic institution. Independent scholars are also welcome to apply.
Stipend
$3,500 per month

Completed applications must be submitted through the ACLS Online Fellowship Application system (ofa.acls.org) no later than 9 p.m. Eastern Standard Time, November 3, 2003.
