Pitzer College
Program Overview
This six-week program is open only to students of The Claremont Colleges. Located about an hour from Osaka in the city of Nishinomiya, the program consists of intensive Japanese language class, lectures on Japanese culture, a family stay, and field trips to places of economic, political, and cultural interest. You may also add a second independent study course on an aspect of Japanese culture of particular interest. This option must be supervised by a faculty member at The Claremont Colleges. Classes are held at Shukugawa Gakuin, a women's college with which Pitzer has had an exchange relationship for twenty years.
