Overview
China Times Cultural Foundation is offering scholarships to support doctoral dissertion research in 2005-2006 on a topic in Chinese Studies. Eligibility is restricted to doctoral candidates with approved prospectus in the Humanities or Social Sciences.
The Foundation is a non-profit organization, funded by China Times. Its purpose is to support and promote the academic seminars and documentary films and provide support to the Asia Society. The scholarships of doctoral candidates are part of a larger program of support to students at various levels of study.
Applicants must be doctoral candidates in the humanities or social scioences with an approved dissertion prospectus. Enrollment in a univerisy in the United States or Canada required.
Scholarships are in the amounts of US $5000 each. The are awarded on the basis of scholastic achievement without regard to a academic discipline, race or nationality.
Beginning this year, there will be given a special award in memory of our founder Chi-Chung Yu. It will be given to the top winner from the applivants with cash award of US $10,000, the rest will receive US $5000.
Requirements
Applicants must send a completed application form, curriculum vitae, official transcript of graduate course work, reprints of publications (if any), and a project description in English and Chinese.
