Information for Engineering Majors planning to study abroad.
"Major engineering projects have international scope and global impact. To be successful, today's engineer must have an understanding and appreciation of other cultures and societies. Study abroad through the EAP is an ideal means to achieve that goal."
-Professor Armen Der Kiureghian
Civil & Environmental Engineering, UC Berkeley
In the past few years, engineering students at UCLA have studied at the following universities. Check them out!

Note: Tohoku University is considered to be the “MIT” of Japan, and has a special engineering program offered for both English-speaking and Japanese-speaking exchange students
In addition, the UC Education Abroad Program offers two special features to help you choose the right program.
All classes taken on the UC Education Abroad Program (EAP) are UC approved courses and count toward your 180 unit requirement for graduation. However, your major has the final authority to determine how the coursework is used to fulfill specific major requirements. Courses are approved on a case by case basis; therefore, there is no list of pre-approved courses. Before going abroad, students should discuss with the department advisor which EAP courses the department will approve for credit toward a major.
