San Antonio Spurs champion Steve Kerr welcomes his mother's visiting scholars to watch the game when the Spurs play in Los Angeles.
When the San Antonio Spurs come to town to play the Lakers or the Clippers, Fulbright Scholar Enrichment Coordinator Ann Kerr sometimes gets an extra ticket from her son Steve, a fifteen-year veteran player in the NBA and winner of four straight NBA championships, the most recent for the San Antonio Spurs and the three earlier ones for the Chicago Bulls. She likes to take along a visiting Fulbright Scholar when she can and see the game and the cultural experience at the Staples Center through their eyes. Here is a photograph of Fulbright Scholar Izumi Matoba from Japan with Steve Kerr and his mother Ann after a recent Lakers game.
