Yun-chung Chen

Assistant Professor of social science at Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. Before coming to UCLA, he graduated from the Graduate Institute of Building and Planning at National Taiwan University, Taiwan. In Taiwan, Dr. Chen was involved in community participatory planning/design projects. Among his research interests are the comparative study of city-regional innovation systems, technological-based development strategies and policies, and the economic and urban geography of China and Southeast Asia. Among his publications are "Trade and the Location of Industries in the OECD and the European Union," Journal of Economic Geography 2 (2002; co-authored).
