Historian of Vietnam taught two Southeast Asian Studies courses in 2005-06.
Jessica Elkind taught a number of UCLA courses in 2005-06, two of which dealt with Southeast Asia. In Fall 2005 she taught a History department undergraduate seminar entitled "U.S., Vietnam, and War." In Spring 2006 she taught a seminar on "Colonialism and Revolution in Southeast Asia" in the Southeast Asian Studies Interdepartmental Program.
Dr. Elkind received her Ph.D. in History from UCLA in 2005 with a dissertation on the history of Vietnam in the 20th century. She has a long association with the Center for Southeast Asian Studies, having been a Foreign Language and Area Studies (FLAS) fellowship recipient during her graduate student years.
