Twelve of the sixteen essays presented at the conference, held at UCLA 11-12 May 2001, will be published in a monograph accepted for publication by Univeristy of Wisconsin Press. The monograph, edited by Nhung Tuyet Tran & Anthony Reid, should appear after the new year.
