Global Learning at UCLA

The UCLA International Institute, a division of the College of Letters & Sciences, is one of the world's preeminent centers of international education.

Institute's Interdepartmental Programs

Interdepartmental degrees offered through the International Institute allow students to focus on a particular area of study -- either a specific geographic area, or a global comparative and issue-oriented approach -- through a variety of disciplines. The flexibility and individualized nature of these interdisciplinary programs enables our students to design a course of study that meets their specific needs.

Further information about the International Institute undergraduate and graduate Interdepartmental Programs can be obtained by visiting the IDPs website.

Study Abroad Programs

Studying Abroad is a life-changing experience. It allows you to explore new countries, cultures and perspectives, and also helps you learn about yourself. By spending a year, semester, or summer in another country, you will understand the world outside the U.S. better and discover strengths you never knew you had. These experiences make you a valuable candidate to potential employers and will continue to impact the personal and prefessional choices you make later in life.

More information about the International Institute study abroad programs -- both full-year programs with EAP as well as the Global Learning Institute, a summer session program currently held in Shanghai, Hong Kong and Mexico -- can be found by visiting the study abroad section of our website.
