Donor Recognition
All gifts to the university are important and your generosity remains more important than ever. Through our donor recognition programs we extend our gratitude to you for helping the International Institute fulfill its mission to educate global citizens.
Donors at all levels of giving can feel good about supporting higher education and promoting closer relations with and better knowledge about a country or region to which they have close ties. In some cases endowed gifts have been named for a donor, or by donors in the honor of someone they wish to honor or remember. Named endowments are available at many levels and help meet the Ensuring Academic Excellence initiative announced by Chancellor Carnesale in June of 2004.
The central aim of the Ensuring Academic Excellence initiative is to generate new funds sufficient to enable UCLA to continue to attract and retain the finest faculty and students. Among the $250-million initiative's financial goals are to raise $100 million to fund 100 new endowed chairs for the recruitment and retention of professors across campus, $100 million to fund fellowships and scholarships in the UCLA College, and $50 million for fellowships and scholarships in UCLA's professional schools.
