In 2014, I developed a program to foster clinical research by introducing to medical
students and graduates the fundamentals of Critical Thinking applied to interpreting
clinical evidence. The program runs in Medical Schools in Guatemala, Costa Rica, and
El Salvador, and is currently active in Peru and Nicaragua. The course consisted of
seven lectures delivered in Spanish via the Internet. In 2019 received an Honorary
Degree in Medicine from UNAN-Managua. In 2022 appointed Docente Extraordinario by
the Universidad Científica del Sur (Lima, Peru).
In summary, my interest is the development of analytical capabilities of medical students
and physicians in Latin America.
