Nathan Kraft's lab focuses on understanding the ecological factors that shape the diversity and dynamics of plant communities. Currently he works in lowland Amazonian rainforests and serpentine grasslands in Southern California. He typically integrate perspectives from functional ecology and phylogenetics in his efforts to understand community assembly in these systems, as well as how these communities may respond to global change. In addition, the lab also contributes to efforts to better characterize the diversity and distribution of plant species across the Americas at broad spatial scales.
