The reality of "Lebanonization" prompted Bordenkircher to construct a framework of analysis for policymakers to better address these states. In light of his observations and framework, he advocates for a state-centric U.S. policy in an increasingly "Lebanonized" Middle East. Bordenkircher believes U.S. policy must focus on maintaining maximum pressure on Iran, working with and maintaining good relations with regional allies and minimizing divisions with and between U.S. allies.
