Janine Dahinden is Professor of Transnational Studies at the Centre for the Understanding of Social Processes at the University of Neuchâtel, Switzerland. Her research interests focus on understanding social processes linked to mobility, transnationalism, and ethnicity under conditions of globalization and social inequalities. She has conducted empirical research in Kosovo, Albania and Switzerland using qualitative methodologies, social network analysis and quantitative comparative surveys, and has published widely (in German, English, and French) on issues regarding mobility, social networks, transnationalism, ethnicity, gender, culture and social integration.
