BIOS

Jaime Lerner is an architect and urban planner, founder of the Instituto Jaime Lerner and chairman of Jaime Lerner Arquitetos Associados (JLAA). He is the former president of the UIA – International Union of Architects and served as three-time mayor of Curitiba, Brazil where he led the urban revolution that made the city renowned for urban planning, public transportation, environmental social programs and urban projects. He served as governor of Parana State twice and conducted an economic and social transformation both in the urban and rural areas. He has received many awards, incuding the highest United Nations Environmental Award (1990) and the World Technology Award for Transportation (2001). Lerner has been deemed a “visionary” by The New York Times and “revolutionary” by The Guardian and in 2010, he was named among the 25 most influential thinkers in the world by Time. His first-English language book Urban Acupuncture has just been published by Island Press, and this appearance is part of his promotional American book tour.

Saleta Reynolds is the General Manager of the Los Angeles Department of Transportation (LADOT).

Paula Daniels is a Senior Fellow on Food Systems, Water, and Climate at the Office of Governor Jerry Brown.

Anastasia Loukaitou-Sideris is the Associate Dean of the UCLA Luskin School of Public Affairs and a Professor of Urban Planning.

Parking Information: The closest parking lot is Structure #3. Visitors may purchase daily parking permits (Currently $12) by stopping at the Information & Parking kiosks (cash only) or by using a "Pay by Space" pay station. The closest information booth to Structure #3 is located on Hilgard and Westholme Ave. To use a Parking Pay Station: Simply drive to a self-service Pay Station location (there is one located in Structure #3). Please read the posted signs and screen prompts for Pay by Space. Pay Stations allow you to select the time you need to spend on campus and pay accordingly (all-day passes can also be purchased).
