Steven P. Wallace, PhD, is professor of the Department of Community Health Sciences and Associate Director of the UCLA Center for Health Policy Research at the UCLA Fielding School of Public Health. Dr. Wallace has studied migration issues since the mid-1980s when he published work on Central American immigration and the 1986 immigration reform (IRCA). His work includes studies of Latin American and Asian immigrants in access to acute, long-term, and preventive services. His current research includes research on how state and local level immigrant policies are experienced by Asian and Latin American immigrants, and how those experiences impact access to health services.
